Kushankur Dey is an Assistant Professor at the Indian Institute of Management Lucknow and joined the institute in September 2019. He has held the Chairmanship of the Centre for Food & Agribusiness Management of IIM Lucknow from September 21, 2020, to September 20, 2022. Before joining IIM Lucknow, he served on the faculty of IIM Bodh Gaya and a few private management institutions for about five years.

He is a Fellow in Rural Management (equivalent to a PhD) from the Institute of Rural Management Anand. He is a Postdoctoral Fellow of the Centre for Management in Agriculture, Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad. He has more than 20 peer-reviewed research articles to his credit. Some of them have appeared in journals of international and national repute, namely Journal of Cleaner Production, Journal of Behavioural and Experimental Finance, Journal of Rural Studies, Economic and Political Weekly, Applied Economics Letters, Journal of Agribusiness in Developing and Emerging Economies, Int. J. of Trade and Global Markets, Int. J. of Financial Markets and Derivatives, Global Business Review, among others. Notably, The Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers' Welfare funded research project titled Farmers' participation in India's futures market: potential, experience and constraints are one of his long-drawn research works brought out by the Springer Nature in association with the Centre for Management in Agriculture of IIMA in August 2021.
